Why Art...

Art is hard to explain, but I like to do it!

Sometimes I wake up in the morning and get an idea and feel "compelled" (mummy's word, not mine), to make a picture or an "installation" out of stuff around the house or at school.

Here are some of the thoughts behind my work:

2015 Christmas Card
Mom and dad liked this so much they made it into our Christmas card for 2015. I made it at school and everyone liked it. I think you can get some for your card next year. Please ask my mom... she's taking all my orders!.

LORD VIKING
One night I wanted to take a teddy to bed and so I made Lord Viking. This is made from recycled materials from Orinoco in Oxford: cardboard, silver paper, gold coin wrappers, black leather and camel like leather.

TAP DANCING SHOE
This is made from tissue paper and cardboard from a shoe box and some leather.

JUNGLE LEAF FOREST
In the right hand corner there is a pond. In the left hand corner there is a volcano with smoke coming out of it. There is a red sun. I have used different coloured paper, blue, green and red and scrunched up paper.

LEOPARD HANDBAG
I used paper, leopard paper and a pipe cleaner.

POLO RING POPPY
A memorial poppy - The French and English coins represent soldiers who died in the wars. I also used polo sweets in the poppy. Polo Ring Poppy was a temporary work but I can recreate it to order.

FOUR SPIDERS IN A TREE
Paint on paper.

You can climb up her legs into the treehouse. There are lights in the house shining through the windows.

I used pins, swimming goggles, tubes and metal rings. Sorry, this is one of my favorite pieces and I would like to keep it.
